Essie Winter 2018 Collection Swatches and Review

Essie's Winter 2018 Collection released late last year and is still pretty widely available. I am all for winter shades year round and this collection has some gorgeous ones. The inspiration behind it is the Northern Lights and the Arctic. Let's check them out!

Essie 1528 Million Mile Hues is a gold chrome polish with green-to-magenta duochrome shimmer flecks. It will cover in one or two thin coats. This is a spectacular polish - very opaque and definitely a chrome, without the typical, finicky chrome formula. I wore this as a pedi this spring and it was wonderful. 

Essie 1529 Sights On Nightlights is a purple-toned black. It covers in one or two thin coats and has a medium-fast dry time. Great formula on this one as well and good coverage.

Essie 1530 Hear Me Aurora is a burgundy red creme. I wore it in two thin coats and it also had a good, medium-fast-drying formula. This is a classic vampy-toned red.

Essie 1531 Just the Way You Arctic is a grayish lavender. I wore it in two thin coats, which is great for a pastel-type shade. It has a medium dry time and covers well for how light it is.

Essie 1532 Polar-izing is a cool-toned rose pink shimmer. This covers in two or three thin coats and has a good medium drying formula. The brush strokes are easily minimized with thin, even coats.

Essie 1533 Glow With the Flow is a cornflower blue with magenta-to-green duochrome shimmer. I wore this is three thin coats and it had a medium dry time. The brush strokes can be minimized with thin, even polishing. I love the vibrance and shift of the shimmer on this one.

The Essie Winter 2018 Collection is still widely available from beauty supply shops and retailers online. A couple of the polishes were real highlights for me, in particular Million Hues, which is a vibrant gold chrome without the usual short wear time and formula problems of that finish. I also really liked the interesting shimmer in Glow With the Flow. Do you have a favorite?
