The 14th Summit of the Group of Twenty (G-20) will be held in Osaka, Japan

The summit is expected to discuss eight key themes on the agenda of the meetings: the global economy, women's empowerment, development, trade, investment, innovation, health, environment and energy, as well as employment.

President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump discussed a number of issues on the sidelines of the G-20 summit, the most important of which are the Iranian issue, Ukraine, the Syrian crisis and the situation in Venezuela.

In addition to these issues, Putin and Trump exchanged views on a number of other issues, such as bilateral relations and the reduction of arms proliferation, the White House said in a statement issued after the two leaders met.

The White House said the two presidents agreed on the importance of improving relations between the two countries and agreed to continue dialogue on a formula to limit the proliferation of arms in the 21st century, which Trump had discussed earlier, stressing that this formula must include China.

Putin invites Trump to visit Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, a call to his US counterpart, Donald Trump, to visit Russia during the commemoration of the 75th victory in the Second World War.

"We have invited the American president to visit us during the 75th anniversary of the World War II victory on May 9 next year," Russian Assistant President Yuri Ushakov told Russia 24 television.

On Friday, the Russian and US presidents held a two-hour bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G-20 summit in Osaka, Japan. At the start of the meeting, the Russian president noted that "they have a lot to talk about." Trump said the topics to be discussed would include trade and disarmament issues, noting that the outcome would be excellent.

It was the first time that the two presidents had held a formal face-to-face meeting since a controversial summit in Helsinki last July. Osaka, Japan on June 28 and 29, will host the summit of the "Big 20" edition this year.
