For those planning to get involved in a humanitarian project(s), either as a donor or as a manager/director, be sure to obtain a clear record of any money transfers. You will need proof of transfers for tax purposes, obviously. But any organization you plan to donate a significant amount to will need to know where the funds came from. Trust me, I know. I have made inquires. You cannot just give a million dollars to some non-profit. Red flags will go up. You can't just say "the RV". Talk with your attorney about your plans. Have the attorney make the funds transfer. Don't believe me? Call a non-profit and ask if they will take your million bucks. See if you can just drop it off. The non-profit has to account for their gifts. Ten bucks is no big deal. Large amounts is a whole different thing.
