"Rial a Sleeper?" by MenoReno - 8.5.19

According to the Friday night update from TNT quoting the current rates, not only were the banks still saying the Iranian Rial was in the first basket, but it was showing at a ridiculously high rate.

At first, this seems to make little sense because of the current political situation. But think about it. This could be another hammerlock on them equivalent to another sanction.

Now, while there are nowhere near as many Rial holders as dinar, or probably even Rupiah, there still must be a considerable amount outside of Iran worldwide. I bought some after the Obama-Kerry denuclearization agreement went through.

That agreement was abrogated by Trump. Everyone then thought the Rial was off the table. But the banks are saying different this close to GO time. They're even saying they are taking all the zim, according to Tony.

So, if the Rial goes at a high rate, Iran is under further obligation to honor its currency, even overseas. That's likely to be in the billions of dollars. And that equates to another sanction.
