The October snowfall in the Midwest comes at a time when many farmers were late to plant. Unfortunately the USDA projects the areas corn is at 20% maturity, The 5 year average is above 80%. It goes without saying this could make the already high farm bankruptcy rate much worse. Accuweather has described blizzard like conditions with some areas receiving as much as 2 feet of snow. What will happen to food prices? We will need to stay on top of this.
