Editor's Note
Luigi Cinque is a multi-faceted artist who has crossed geographical and cultural one of the central figures of experimentation in Italy. From his epochal “Note di atemporalità” to his being part of Canzoniere del Lazio, passing through electronic and Indian crossover, his work as a film director, he has travelled a long artistic path that has found its apex in the current experience with Hypertext O’rchestra. We interviewed the Roman composer whose Hypertext O’rchestra is playing at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome on November 28th. From the urban global sound to the acoustic paths of “Úr” by the traditional Irish band Goitse. The world music page continues with “Sissoko & Sissoko”, a magnificent collaboration between the cousins Ballaké Sissoko and Baba Sissoko. Back to Italy for “Animantiga”, the posthumous release by the late Roberta Alloisio with the Corse songwriter Stéphane Casalta. For the live music page, you’ll read from the 2019 edition of “Visa For Music” held in Rabat, while Orietta Fossati reports from the 12th edition of the traveling festival “Canto Spontaneo”. Still, there is the chronicle of the Barezzi Festival which took place in Parma from 15 to 17 November. On the song-writing side, we focus on Leonard Cohen reviewing his posthumous album “Thanks For The Dance” and the volume “La Fiamma. Poesie e pagine scelte dai quaderni”. Another review follows, that is Slow Attack Ensemble’s “Delay Music”. Finally, Valerio Corzani’ s snapshot features the Italian singer Tosca.
