"Petition the Lord with Prayer" by MenoReno - 11.8.19

Well, Mike Cottrell's petition to the Lord of the WH is really an effort in futility. The 2013 Gold Treaty, which lapsed after its 5 years period, wasn't renewed.

The first Gold Treaty was ratified in 1999. The reason was, at the time, because the central banks in Europe were proposing to sell off large amounts of their reserves. The Brits were ready to dump 58% of theirs, and the Swiss and others were ready to sell various amounts, too.

So, in an effort to stabilize the market, the Gold Treaty was drafted and passed and renewed 3 times, finally expiring in 2019. It was not renewed because the gold market dynamics have changed. There are more players on the field and banks in Asia and the ME have been buying, not selling. As the treaty no longer served its function, it was not renewed.

Now, I don't know what MarkZ and Cottrell are thinking, but so far only 3432 people have signed their petition. That leaves them quite a way to go on their quest for 100,000 signatures. And for what? Even if Trump signed it as they claim, who's going to sign it outside of the US. Then, for it to go into effect, it would have to be ratified by the Senate.

Anyone think that's going to happen soon?
