The United States said in a statement to the White House spokeswoman on Iraq We are deeply concerned about the continuing attacks against demonstrators, civilian activists and the media, as well as restrictions on Internet access in Iraq.
"The Iraqis will not stand unanswered as they see the Iranian regime draining their resources and using armed groups and their political allies to prevent them from expressing their views peacefully."
Despite being targeted with lethal violence and denying access to the Internet, the Iraqi people have heard their voices and called for elections and electoral reforms.
The United States joins the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) in calling on the Iraqi government to stop violence against demonstrators and fulfill President Saleh's promise to pass electoral reform and hold early elections.
