Where did that name come from?
A Yale is a chimera, a mythical beast
Winged, clawed like a lion and a horned antelope ?

How does a mythical Heraldic beast end up as the name of a place of higher learning?
Oh well
It is my understanding that the inscription above the crest
( Lux et Veritas ) is in the Latin and translates to
Light and Truth( ok for a place of higher learning) but?
Urim V'Thummim Ancient Hebrew describing two stones utilized for Divination?
Elements found on the Hoshen, the breastplates of the Hebrews high priests
Huh?
Some might say that these words go back to the Babylonians and the Tablets of Destiny ,Breastplate worn by Marduk
( the Anu false god ...) Anu short for anus I guess... Annunaki

This is also found in the Mormon religion?
And yet, the Mormon religion was created 100 years after the creation of Yale. What ties these two together?
