I have not heard anyone talk about this, but with October 1st being the start of the new fiscal year for both Iraq and the USA, IT WOULD SEEM TO ME THAT THE DATE OF OCTOBER FIRST WOULD HAVE SOME SIGNIFICANCE IN THE SCENARIO WE'RE WATCHING PLAY OUT... IMO AM I WRONG???

According to the following source, Iraq's fiscal year begins the calendar year. Source link

What I find interesting is the 2020 budget being put on the table now. Also, October 15, 2003 was the date the new IQD was released.. and it will be exactly 17 years (Q) since the new currency release, if the value re-instates on Oct. 15, 2020.

Imo and as per this link... Scroll down to FISCAL year.

Iraq's fiscal year is calendar and not Oct 1. As of today this has not changed and every year since I have been in this; it has been hypothesized that Iraq will/could and lets not leave out has already changed to Oct 1 and yet they are still Calendar year. Jan 1. Could they change it? Sure. Will they is the ? as always. lol

Me and imo only, Iraq is prime for January 2021. They still have work to do. But if they do change their fiscal year to Oct 1, that would excite me. None the less January is coming fast and this is just my opinion.

Thanks for the correction. I thought they had changed their accounting year to Oct 1.

The Khawr Abdullah Agreement or the Agreement to Regulate Maritime Navigation in Khor Abdullah is an international border agreement between Iraq and Kuwait, ratified in Baghdad on November 25, 2013 in implementation of Resolution No. 833, issued by the Security Council in 1993 after several resolutions following the Iraqi invasion.

To Kuwait in 1990, and to complete the procedures for demarcating the borders between the two countries, and establishing an accurate determination of its coordinates on the basis of the agreement concluded between the two countries after the independence of Kuwait in 1963.

This agreement led to the division of Khawr Abdullah between the two countries, which is located in the far north of the Arabian Gulf between the Iraqi peninsula of Al-Faw and each of the Kuwaiti islands of Bubiyan and Warba. Border No. 156 and No. 157 southward to point 162 and then to the beginning of the entrance to the navigation channel at the entrance to Khor Abdullah. It also created new ports.

This agreement sparked a great controversy in Iraq, where a group of Iraqi politicians saw that the then Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and the Iraqi parliament had given up part of Khawr Abd Allah, which is the only shipping lane leading to most Iraqi ports, and that the division came with fairness, and not based on Taluk line, meaning the deepest maritime navigation lane.

While the other team defended the agreement as a completion of the demarcation of the borders based on an international decision, which led on the ground to the establishment of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer port on the western shore of Khor Abdullah on the Kuwaiti island of Boubyan, which is supposed to be linked by a railway with Iraq in the future, as it will be One of the largest ports in the Gulf with its capacity.
