The most prominent Saudi newspapers celebrated the Emirati-Bahraini normalization agreement with the Israeli occupation, despite the official position which ignored commenting on it and stressed the need to find a just solution to the Palestinian issue.
The Saudi English-language Arab News newspaper showed an unprecedented celebration of the normalization agreement, as its editorial headlined "Peace, Shalom, Peace." The newspaper said that the agreement signed is "historic."
In turn, the newspaper "Okaz" celebrated the agreement, and put the headline for Tuesday's issue, "A History of Peace." Okaz highlighted the statement of US President Donald Trump, in which he said that this agreement declares a "new dawn for the Middle East."
Al-Riyadh newspaper highlighted King Salman’s statement about Riyadh’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause. However, it celebrated the agreement on the main page of its paper issue as well. Under the heading "Peace Option", "Riyadh" said that Bahrain's motives for concluding the agreement are the same that the Emirates talked about, in contributing to finding a solution to "the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and the shared benefits economically, security, militarily and technologically," she said.
And she continued: "The Bahraini-Israeli and Emirati-Israeli agreement were concluded in difficult security conditions, not with Israel, but with other regional parties such as the Iranian regime, which has become a real alternative to terrorist groups, and a constant threat to the countries of the region, including Manama and Abu Dhabi."
She indicated, "It is hoped that this agreement will come as a continuation of the efforts of the UAE and Bahrain sisters in consolidating the foundations of security, stability and peace in all parts of the world, and the importance of intensifying efforts to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and achieve a just and comprehensive peace, in accordance with the two-state solution and the relevant international legitimacy decisions." Al-Riyadh claimed that “the stance of the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain towards the Palestinian issue is historical and honorable, and it cannot be questioned. "Asharq Al-Awsat" newspaper entitled its main story "The Gulf and Israel .. The Fall of the Wall", and highlighted Trump's statement that there are 5 or 6 Arab countries that will join the path of normalization.
In turn, "Al-Bilad" newspaper claimed that the normalization agreement with the occupation "enhances the chances for peace." On its home page, it quoted politicians from Bahrain and the UAE as saying that the normalization agreement would give benefits to the Palestinians.
While Al-Jazeera newspaper highlighted Trump's statement that “the hostility between Arabs and Jews is a lie,” celebrating the normalization agreement. LINK
3 Arab countries and Pakistan may be next in an agreement with "Israel"
18:01 - 09/15/2020
Media reports said today, Tuesday, that 3 Arab countries in addition to Pakistan, may be the next after the UAE and Bahrain to sign a normalization or peace agreement with Israel in the next stage.
"Israel Hayom" newspaper quoted Noor Dahari, the independent British-Pakistani researcher who heads the Islamic Institute for Combating Terrorism (ITCT), as saying that "Pakistan has national interests that do not allow them to start an open relationship with Israel, but it has not closed the door on this issue." The two countries have been sharing military intelligence and knowledge for decades. Pakistan did not view the Jewish state as an enemy, and it is likely that an agreement will be reached with it in the future.
On the other hand, Dahari said, "There are a number of countries that stand in line and are waiting to join the agreements, including Oman, Sudan, Morocco and Saudi Arabia, and Qatar may join an agreement with Israel sooner or later."
In turn, the American "CNN" channel quoted American administration sources as saying that Washington is looking at new normalization agreements with 3 Arab countries after the announcement of the peace agreement between the UAE and Bahrain on the one hand, and Israel on the other hand. The sources indicated that the new countries are the Sultanate of Oman and Sudan in addition to Morocco. LINK
